IRIS Peridot was launched today in partnership with FICCI, as a commemoration of the first anniversary of GST at a program organised by FICCI in New Delhi.
Using the app, you can scan a bill with a phone camera to pick up the GSTIN whose correctness will then be immediately verified by querying the GSTN servers. The history of returns filed by the taxpayer will also be available.
The GSTIN can also be typed in the app manually for similar results.
For a business, knowing the tax compliance behaviour of counterparties, especially vendor, is important from an Input Tax Credit point of view.
