GST Notification – 10/2025:
The Central Government has issued Notification No. 10/2025 – Central Tax dated 13th March 2025, to amend Notification No. 02/2017-Central Tax. This update revises the jurisdictional areas assigned to certain Central Tax authorities under the CGST and IGST Acts.
The changes involve updates to the jurisdiction lists for the following Commissionerates: Alwar, Chennai Outer, Jaipur, Jodhpur, Madurai, Tiruchirapalli, and Udaipur. For example, Alwar now includes districts like Khairthal-Tijara, Kotputli-Behror, Bharatpur, and others in Rajasthan, while Chennai Outer covers areas in Tamil Nadu such as Viluppuram, Vellore, Chengalpattu, and excludes core Chennai zones.
These updates help in better tax administration by reflecting recent district reorganizations and changes in territorial boundaries
across Rajasthan and Tamil Nadu. The revised jurisdictional mapping is effective as per the details published in this notification.
